Registrar change handshake and notification options

You can use Online Services to customise how EPP and the Web Domain Manager work via these options:

  • Handshake options
This determines how you accept domain names onto your tag. If you require a handshake when a registrar change is requested, an email (or poll notification) is sent to your notification address. Registrar change requests not authorised within 5 days are automatically rejected. There are these options:
    • Always accept registrar changes to your tag – All requests for a registrar change to your tag are automatically accepted. This is the default setting.
    • Only handshake if new customer, otherwise accept registrar changes to your tag – Requests for a registrar change on to an existing account on the tag (the account number is given as part of the tag change) are accepted automatically, all other requests result in a handshake.
    • Always handshake – All requests for a registrar change to the tag result in a handshake.
    • Always reject registrar changes to your tag – All requests for a registrar change to the tag are rejected.
  • Tag notification options
This determines how you receive notifications from Nominet about changes to domain names or accounts on your tag.
